Land Acknowledgement

As a recent British immigrant with Celtic heritage, Rooted Breath and Emerald May respectfully acknowledges that we are earthed on the traditional and unceded lands home to the Atfalati, Cowlitz, Kalapuya, Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians, Grand Ronde, Cayuse, Umatilla and Walla Walla.

Rooted Breath is benefiting from lands taken from first nations people that we now call the city of Portland. I am aware that land acknowledgment does not serve as a replacement for returning resources to their care. I am aware of my white privilege; one example being able to become an immigrant easily, and I commit to engaging in a respectful and honoring partnership as stewards of these lands, and offer a sliding scale for BIPOC clients if they wish to receive it, as an initial step to reparation, a critical anti-racist action that I can do, to make change within the communities I serve.
